[Ep 83] Find Your Community To Create Your Safe Space

  • Reading time:2 mins read

In this episode, I’ll be speaking about the importance of community.

Having a community of people doing similar things to you is crucial in winning the game. Life can be lonely, even despite a slew of people around us who love and support us. They might support us, but they won’t truly understand the trials and tribulations we are going through.

We all need people to support us, believe in us and hold our hand and guide us when the time comes, and there is no shame in needing people.

Podcast Content

  1. The importance of finding your community
  2. Why having a community will help you in life?
  3. How to find your community?
  4. What community should you be a part of?

Whether you are starting a new business, a new sport, moving to a new country or just simply going traveling, it can be lonely at times. It is useful to have people who are on a similar path as you.

Before I moved to Chiang Mai, I didn’t have a community. When I started meditating, I was so worried as to what other people would think of me, so I hid it. I hid my passion and I was alone. IT was a very lonely time in my life and I knew that I didn’t want to feel the same way when I was starting a new business.

Thus, I moved to Chiang Mai. I searched Facebook for digital nomads like me and found a whole world full of people in the same boat as me. I found my community, I found people who I could connect with, ask questions, and get the support and knowledge that I needed.

Finding your communities will benefit you in numerous ways. You will be able to connect with like-minded people thought have been through the same struggles as you. They can offer you support, information, a hand to hold during the difficult times and most importantly friendship. This way you will never have to feel lonely during your journey through life.

Hope Is The Most Beautiful Emotion Out There, In A Screwed Up World

  • Reading time:4 mins read

Recently, I went to India to visit my mother’s relatives and to enjoy a bit of sun, spices, and shopping. I ate a lot of food, I did a lot of shopping with my mother, and I spent a lot of time groaning about the heat.

But more than that, I felt so much gratitude in my heart and mind for the life that I had been gifted. I saw the way people in India live. They are happy, yes. But they also live really hard lives. Some of them are working in really harsh conditions, under the blazing sun, doing back-breaking construction work. Others are using all of their sinewy muscles to ride these cycle rickshaws, filled with hundreds of pounds of material.

Indian people have such an abundance of hope for the future. No matter where they were, what they were doing, or how they were living their life. It truly was a thing of beauty. I wanted to share the experience with you.

Death Is A Reminder To Stay Truly Alive, In Spite Of Contrary Ideas

  • Reading time:4 mins read

Everything that happens in life is a lesson. I really believe in this adage. Everything that is happening, from the tiniest of things, to the biggest of things, is a lesson that we need to hear at that moment in time.

I am in India right now, visiting relatives, taking my parents around, and I am seeing a lot of poverty, and also, a lot of joy. The biggest lesson that can be served to anyone is to remember to appreciate life. Appreciate that you are here, and that you are alive. Appreciate that you can move your limbs, and make a noise, and eat some food, and talk to friends and family. Without all of this appreciation, we are essentially dead. Zombies moving through the world, pretending to be alive, but not.

My mother’s sister’s husband died while we were in India. It’s not a big deal. There are billions of people on this planet. And one more dying shouldn’t be a big deal. But of course, it is to us. He was a quiet, smiling man, who lived his life to the max, and died in his 80s. Which means, that the lesson is here for us to take, if we wish to.

[Ep 81] 3 Lessons From The First Year Of Business

  • Reading time:2 mins read

In this episode, I’ll be talking to you about three big lessons that I learned during the first year of running my own business.

There are hundreds of little lessons that I have accumulated in the past year, some that I am aware of, others that I am not. I wanted to share the top three with you, because these are lessons that are transferable to all areas of life. Not just business, but everything else you can imagine.

Podcast content

  1. The power of meditation
  2. The joys of consistency
  3. The bounty of patience
  4. My coaching program

During the past year of creating and growing my own business, I’ve discovered just how powerful meditation can really be! Whenever I’m feeling stressed or any negative emotions, a short session of meditation can change my whole mood around. Meditation slows your thoughts down and lets you become conscious to the world around you as it is now.

It helps me calm down and relax, it shows me how much I have grown as an individual over the past year and how much of a success I’ve become. Success isn’t defined by how much money you have, or the type of car you drive, it’s how you rate yourself. Thus, if you feel like you are a success, then you are!

The second lesson I’ve learned is consistency. We need to have consistency in everything we do in life and especially in our business. You need to have passion and love what you do. This way you’ll be happy to do something to push your business forward every day.

The last and probably most important lesson I’ve learned is patience. You need to have a lot of patience when starting and running your own business. Some days you will feel like everything is going terribly wrong and your business is moving too slowly but that is ok. You need to let your businesses grow and learn and develop over time, it is something that can’t be rushed.

When running your own business, we all will learn our own lessons. We need to learn to listen to these lessons and grown and develop from them because once we do that’s when our business will be the success we know it can be.

[Ep 80] I’m Obsessed With Flow States And Here’s Why

  • Reading time:2 mins read

In this episode, I’ll be talking to you about flow states. What are Flow states and how are they important to human beings who want to live fulfilling lives?

If you don’t already know, a Flow state is that feeling you get when you are in alignment with the universe and everything in your life feels perfect and life is going just the way you want it. At this moment, life couldn’t be any better even if you tried. Everything, life, relationships, work, they all feel effortless and life feels like it will pass you by so quickly.

Podcast Content

  1. What is Flow state?
  2. How to improve your Flow state
  3. A Flow state can enhance your life
  4. How I changed my life and achieve my Flow state
  5. Find what makes you happy in life and do it!

If you are unhappy in your life or in a situation where you are not happy, be it a job you don’t like or a relationship you’re not happy in, this can block you from reaching your flow state. For me being in Chiang Mai, in a place I love and being surrounded by positive people lets me achieve my Flow state.

Meditation can also help you get your Flow state. Meditation can be different for everyone. Some people meditate by sitting in a cross legged position and closing their eyes. Others by dancing, moving, or singing. Be present within the moment, be aware of what is around you and your breathing. When we are living in the moment, it’s easier to see how incredible the universe and the life we have is and we can be grateful for it.

Life is so short. One moment you’re here, the next you could be gone. Why waste our precious time doing stuff that makes us unhappy and brings negativity into our lives? If you start spending more time doing the things you love and what makes you happy, you will reach your Flow state easier and faster.

Be Careful What You Wish For – You Just Might Get It

  • Reading time:4 mins read

There are so many things I want to say about this topic. I have been thinking a lot about wishes, hopes, desires, dreams, and goals. I turned 35 this year. And thankfully, I have never been the kind of person who has to have accomplished a bunch of meaningless tasks before a certain age. I am not disappointed in myself or my life because I am not married. Or because I don’t have babies, or I don’t have a dog.

I am happy that I am who I am, I have done what I have done, and I own what I own.

Interestingly enough, I no longer have a bucket list. I used to have a long, long one when I was in my twenties. There were so many things on it, and I wanted to accomplish them all by the age of 35. But thankfully, I have either accomplished a lot of those things already, and realized they weren’t as much of a big deal as I thought they would be. Or I realized that most things, once achieved, lose their lustre, and turn out to be nonsensical wishes anyways.
