I am sitting here on a bullet train going from Tokyo to Kobe, with my sister who met up with me from Toronto and writing out a blog post, that’s going to reach hundreds of people over its lifetime. I feel so blessed, and I feel an immense amount of gratitude to be living this magical life in this moment of time.
I’m sure things are only going to keep on getting better and better as time goes on. Technology will improve. People will change and become stronger, braver, faster, prettier. The world will surely transform in a way that I can’t even imagine right now.
But, at this moment in time, as I sit here, in this bullet train that’s zooming at speeds of more than 200 km/hr, I feel this sense of awe that I’m here and alive.
I know I probably harp on this over and over again, but this is something that I really want you guys to understand. Or at least experience not only second-hand from me, but also first-hand with yourself.
Life Should Be A Series Of Gratitude Filled Moments – Magical Life Activated
In my opinion, humbly, I request that you create your life so that it becomes a series of gratitude-filled moments. One moment after another, I want us to sit in awe of the fact that we are wherever we are and we are doing whatever we are doing.
I mean, even if you don’t count the fact that I’m on a bullet train, with a Wi-Fi connection, a laptop, clean-drinking water, a washroom, and scenery that boggles the mind… even besides that there are many things to be in awe of.
I have all of my limbs intact. Senses that function almost perfectly. Enough food in my belly to feel satisfied. A family that loves me.
Clean air to breathe. Water to drink, clean and sparkling. Beautiful nature around me. The ability to speak and share my thoughts with strangers at a click of a button.
There are hundreds of other things like that I could list out. But I am not going to.
Each person’s list of gratitude will be different (and also very similar). But the point is to have this list, and to look at it daily, and to realize that no matter what is going on in this world, we are the luckiest people to ever live on this planet.
Even Kings Who Lived In The Past Didn’t Have Such A Luxurious Life Like Ours
It’s a weird thought to have, but even Kings and Queens, or royalty of any kind, who were alive in the past, didn’t have lives as luxurious and filled with glorious things as we do now.
Chocolate used to be a luxury that came rarely, and they had to conserve mandarin oranges, and only eat one at a time because they were so expensive.
There are hundreds of examples like that, where people like us, ordinary individuals end up living extremely luxurious lives with running hot water at the flick of a tap, TV that plays a hundred channels, Internet that connects you to whatever and whoever, and so much more.
An Attitude Of Gratitude Is Where It’s At
It is, of course, all about perspective. It doesn’t matter how we live or what we do, as long as we have the right attitude about it.
You could be the richest person on the planet, but if you don’t have the right attitude of gratitude about it, then there’s really no point in being alive, is there?
I think I am the luckiest person on the planet, and I go around the world with that attitude, not because it’s a hardship to do so, but because I truly believe I am the luckiest person on the planet. Everything I have and everything I am delineates that idea to me over and over again.
I’m so lucky. I’m so lucky. Seriously, I’m so lucky. This thought travels through my head over and over and over again.
We are all super lucky to be alive right now. I just want to send out this message of ultimate gratitude out to the world.
Thank you universe for giving us such an awesome magical life, and thank you for another spin around on this beautiful blue planet.
