In this episode, I’ll be chatting about using jealousy as a guidepost to our heart’s desires, rather than an emotion to be avoided. I call these Jealousy Maps.Normally, jealousy is used in a negative light. We believe that if we feel jealousy then we are horrible human beings, who are imperfect, and that, we should never ever feel jealousy if we are to be good. Jealousy is avoided, eschewed, and demeaned as an emotion. The key in turning it around is by using all these insights we gleaned from our feelings of jealousy and wield it as a weapon to enhance and transform our lives for the better. Jealousy has an important lesson in it that we miss if we avoid listening to its message by running away from it.

Podcast Content

In this podcast episode, I will be chatting about the following things:
  1. Everyone gets jealous, but it’s really not a negative emotion.
  2. How jealousy can be used as a guidepost?
  3. What are the keys to turn this emotion into a powerful weapon?
  4. Turn jealousy into action.
  5. Other amazing things and other stuff (you gotta listen to get it).
For instance, each time we get that pang of jealousy towards someone, instead of letting it annihilate us, we can use it to fuel our motivation and drives to achieve our personal and professional goals and aims.Jealousy often emerges when we want to do a particular thing, but we feel incapable of making it materialize. For example, I use to be jealous of those who were performing in theatre – singing, dancing, making people laugh, and acting. But I realized in the past few weeks that I feel jealous of performers because I am a performer at heart. Wanting to perform, but believing that I can’t, I hated those who did perform. I felt jealous towards them and put them down in my mind. The moment I realized that, everything changed in my mind, in my perspective, and even in my character. I no longer feel jealous of those people. That feeling of jealousy has disappeared and was replaced by knowledge and forethought. Now, instead of having myself consumed by resentment, I am going onstage and working in achieving my desires. Performing onstage, auditioning, and reaching my dreams.
